What Pets Write in Their Diary

I got this in an email and had a great laugh out of it. Since we are animal lovers, especially of our dog and two cats, this was especially funny. One cat is very happy go lucky, and more like a dog than a cat. The other cat (Mocha), on the other hand, is a long haired beauty queen princess who has little time or concern for the other "peasants" who live in her midst (namely, Buddy the dog and Moxie, the other cat). This little diary that I got in an email describes the relationship between Mocha and the other peasant animals quite well. I hope you get a laugh out of it too!

Day 983 of my captivity...
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine
lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort
of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I
nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to
disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had
hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what
I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about
what a 'good little hunter' I am. IMBECILES.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in
solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the
noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the
power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors
by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow --
but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog
receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than
willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards
regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged
protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now................

Buddy's Story

I have had several people to email and ask about Buddy (our sweet little dog).  I have a post that I did when Buddy came into our lives, which you can read here (this post tells his little story).  There were some very sad circumstances by which we got him, but those circumstances turned out for the best.  It is very hard for people to believe that we didn't get him until he was 5 1/2 years old.  As of this coming June, he will have been with us 2 years.  He has been a total an complete joy to have around.  He is full of character and lots of the most hilarious expressions.  I wish that everyone could meet him, since there are not many people who meet him that don't fall in love with his sweet nature.

A Buddy update....he is about to go on his first real road trip!  He has never really ridden too far in the car, so it's going to be an adventure for him....and for us!  I'm sure after the 14 hour trip, I'll have lots to tell you about, so stay tuned!

And to all that have asked about him....thank you...he is most appreciative ;o)

Food Network Has Gone to the Dogs!

Photobucket

Well, we all knew it would happen sooner or later.  Food TV has now broken into the Pet market!  I will have to admit, I had to give these new treats a second glance, since I'm very picky about what Buddy eats.  I don't buy anything that is not made in the US and I make sure that it's healthy.  Well, Rachel Ray, the EVOO queen and her dog, Isaboo, now have a new pet line out.  I'm not sure how far it reaches outside of pet treats, but so far, that's the only thing that I have found.  (These are $3.50 at Wal Mart, good sized bags, nice amount of product for the money)

Why am I telling you all of this?  I'm telling you because BUDDY LOVES THEM!  He is really picky about crunchy treats, but he LOVES these new "Booscotti" treats (bacon flavored).  He has not tried the grill bites yet, but I'm sure he'll love them too.  He tried to pull the bag out of my hand earlier because he wanted one so bad!  I think Buddy would agree with Isaboo...."THEY'RE DUH-LISH!"

Firestarter

My cat, my BEAUTIFUL Mocha Princess has shown another side of herself tonight.  I was playing around with some effects on some photographs, only to be totally shocked at what the end result was!  I could NOT believe what my beautiful kitty girl looked like with one of the effects (neon) applied to the picture.....kind of reminded me of that old movies from the late 70's or early 80's--Firestarter.

Welcome Little "Buddy" Bartlett

Well, the Bartlett house grew again on Saturday, June 23rd! We have welcomed little Buddy Bartlett into our happy home. Buddy is a black and tan miniature Dachshund who was the constant companion of an elderly couple from Mississippi, especially the gentleman of the house. Unfortunately, his master passed away and his mistress has moved to an assisted living facility, leaving little Buddy in need of a new home.
Buddy is now a very active member of our house, so much that you would never know that he hasn't been with us all of his five and a half short years on this earth. We are all very attached and are so appreciative of Ann D from Daphne assiting us with the "adoption". Ann is the daughter of the sweet couple from Mississippi. Thanks Ann! We LOVE him!!
