Finger Lickin', Lip Smackin' Good
I had to go and dig this recipe out of a post from last year so that I could share it again. This is one of THE BEST appetizers you will ever make. I want to make some over the Thanksgiving holidays for no other reason than they are just plain yummy and always a crowd pleaser. They are really good for breakfast and brunch, so we may have to do these Thanksgiving morning while Rob and Paul fry the turkeys!
Enjoy!!!!
HOT HAM & SWISS POPPYSEED SANDWICHES
1 package of dinner rolls (comes in a rectangular tin--don't throw the tin away....you'll need it for the recipe)
Shaved honey ham or thin sliced deli ham
Sliced Swiss Cheese
Sauce:
1 stick (salted or unsalted) butter (no margarine...use the real thing)
2 tsp good Dijon mustard
3/4 tsp Poppy seeds
l l/2 tsp onion flakes (dried minced) or 1 Tbsp of fresh grated onion
1/4 tsp onion powder
3/4 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Melt all ingredients for sauce in a sauce pan until mixed well. Before baking, hand cut dinner rolls and put on ham and cheese. Put tops on sandwiches. Pour sauce on sandwiches cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. (or can be done early in the morning for later in the evening.) Remove plastic wrap before baking. Bake at 300-325 degrees depending on intensity of oven for l0 minutes or until cheese is melted***Be careful they burn EASILY!!!
